Music of Remembrance

Music of Remembrance fills a unique role throughout the world by remembering the Holocaust through music with concerts, educational programs, recordings, and commissions of new works. Along with its repertoire of Holocaust-era music, MOR commissions and produces new works by major composers. It also seeks to extend the Holocaust’s lessons through music that responds to the experience of others who have been excluded or persecuted for their faith, ethnicity, gender or sexuality. In 2018, Music of Remembrance expanded programming to include new works by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shinji Eshima, and Keiko Fujiie on the theme of WWII Japanese American experience. On November 3, 2019, MOR will present new works by Sakamoto and Eshima.
